About Me

I am kind, caring, down to earth and genuine. I like to be “real” in counselling sessions and in time, I hope you will feel at ease to open up, explore your thoughts and feelings and be “real” with me.
I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor, which means I pay attention to the whole of you and can tailor the sessions to suit your needs. This may be for a short amount of sessions or long term. You are in control of your sessions and I am here for you!
I studied at Devon and Cornwall Counselling Hub to become an Integrative Counsellor and then continued to a higher level of psychotherapeutic Counselling. I felt this was important, so I could offer my clients the whole package and work in depth safely. During our sessions you can share as little or as much as you want, at your own speed. We can explore the problems you bring and the effect they are having on you now or I can use my skills, knowledge and training to trace them back to childhood if necessary and work safely with what this may bring. I will meet your thoughts and feelings with care and understanding, not judgement.
I have lived experience and training in working with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, chronic illness and the feelings these bring. I have also worked with parents who support their autistic children and with clients who have experienced loss and bereavement, with LGBTQ+ and gender diverse clients to help them gain a better understanding of them self and discover the real them. Everybody is unique and I feel privileged that clients feel safe to share and explore their thoughts and feelings with me. I can hold a safe, professional, supportive space for all clients; no matter how they feel, what thoughts and feelings they bring or their background.
I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and follow their ethical guidelines. I hold professional indemnity insurance and I have monthly supervision to ensure I work safely with my clients.
I use my counselling training and natural intuition, to guide me to help you achieve your goals. Stressful life events and changes can leave people feeling overwhelmed, misunderstood and confused. I will sit with you and help you work out a way forward. As we go through life, we often lose our way and change direction. That’s okay! We can sit together and try to work through this. I can support you to find meaning and purpose, to feel connected and find the real you again.
