About Me

Hi Im Laura! I am kind, caring, genuine and down to earth. I like to be “real” in counselling sessions and in time, I hope you will feel at ease to open up and be “real” with me too.

I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor, who can tailor the sessions to meet your needs. I chose to continue to study a higher level of psychotherapeutic counselling so I could offer my clients the whole package and work in depth safely.

During our sessions you can share as little or as much as you want, at your own speed. You may wish to come for a short number of sessions or long term. You are in control of your sessions!

We can explore the problems you bring and the effect they are having on you now or I can use my skills, knowledge and training to trace them back to childhood and work safely with what this may bring. I will meet your thoughts and feelings with care and understanding, not judgement.

I have lived experience and training in working with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, chronic illness and the feelings these bring. I have also worked with parents who support their autistic children and with clients who have experienced loss and bereavement, with LGBTQ+ and gender diverse clients to help them gain a better understanding of them self and discover the real them; often after years of masking. Everybody is unique and I feel grateful that clients feel safe to share and explore their thoughts and feelings with me.

I have recently completed Sands Baby Loss Training to help mums and dads navigate their loss and talk about their very much loved one. This is often a taboo subject and parents feel they cannot confide in their friends and family, often trying to protect their thoughts and feelings surrounding it. I am here for you to talk about your experience, the deep pain of your loss and to hear your baby’s name!

Stressful life events can leave people feeling overwhelmed, misunderstood and confused. I will sit with you and help you work out a way forward. As we go through life, we can often loose our way and change direction. That’s okay! We can sit together and work out a way of getting you back on track- I can support you to find meaning and purpose, to feel connected and find the real you again!
